the design work

I tend to dabble in many different areas of art -- advertising, retail merchandising, fine art, graphic design, and photography. I shared the work of another artist I fancied last week, so this week I will share some of my own work.

When creating art I go through many stages: love, hate, unsure, sort of like, totally hate, maybe like more than previously thought, not so bad, really bad, sharing with everyone, never sharing with anyone and so on...
It's hard to stick your name on a piece and be totally confident about what you have created. Often, I will go back to work I completed years earlier and a new idea or tweak will strike me.

Pulling together these designs is a trip down memory lane for me. They are all from different times in my life but share a similar look nonetheless. I hope you enjoy them.

/My friend Nicole was putting together a foodie blog and needed a logo. This was my submission:
/I came up with this name and thought it was clever enough to deserve a logo.
/This logo graced the top of the goody-bags at my Mom's 50th birthday party.
The goodies were giant cupcakes in take-out containers!

/A friend of the family is an eye doctor and needed a new logo for his office.

/My mom is an awesome cook and started baking push-up cake pops for events.
She needed some branding to go with the tasty treats!

/A friend of the family, Lauren, needed a logo for her bat-mitzvah party.
This cheerful version was my favorite.

As you can see I love bold colors and clean lines. When I look at all of these logos together, it's clear that I have a signature 'style' of design.

Hope you enjoyed + have a lovely week!

  1. Thanks! Some days I like them more than others -- but it's fun to see them all together.
